Speaking of college cross country, two notable coaching moves were announced yesterday: Stanford hired away Chris Miltenberg from Georgetown’s national championship team, and the Nike Oregon Project took Pete Julian from Washington State.

Heptathlon legend Carolina Kluft will make her farewell competition at this weekend’s Finland vs Sweden competition, but she will be on the team in a different way than expected.

Speaking of Finland, the Helsinki Olympic Stadium – the only stadium to host two outdoor IAAF World Championships – is in need of serious updating.

Money (or rather lack of it) and Olympians: the Sport Digest looks at the imbalance between pay at the top of the organizations and the stipends given out to athletes, and the New York Times looks at the IOC’s Rule 40.

The 1896 Olympic marathon trophy goes on display in Greece. It’s one of the most important pieces of Olympic memorabilia out there and will be displayed at the Acropolis museum.
