Dual Meet Hall of Fame: Ted Meredith

The third honoree in the initial winter class of my Dual Meet Hall of Fame is James “Ted” Meredith, who ran the middle distances for Penn from 1914 to 1916. He was undefeated in ten races in six meets in his three years running for Penn, and the last of those races saw him break his own 880 yard World Record. It was the first and only 880 yard World Record ever set in collegiate dual meet competition.
